Welcome to the Borderless Collective
About me, about the Borderless Collective, and what to expect
Welcome to the Borderless Collective
What this is all about
Consider this a mastermind group of higher level / status members looking to date, do business, and network globally. There will be city guides / breakdowns, podcasts in video and audio format, various articles on the topics of business, investing, dating, cultural commentary, and more.
The idea is to create an ecosystem of sharing best practices in all of the above. To provide a place where we can all work towards our goals of living a global lifestyle, to achieve our goals, and to have the community to help us towards said goals.
To talk fitness, crypto, making / investing money, self-improvement, travel, best places to live abroad / find a quality woman / find solid connections. To bounce ideas off one another. To build in-person relationships as well.
Why this, why now
I consider myself a global citizen.
I’ve lived the past few years outside of the USA, mainly in LatAm but now in Asia for a while. I speak Spanish. I dance salsa, bachata, reggaetón, and merengue. I have a permanent residency visa for Mexico.
I’ve also traveled to several countries in Europe and nearly moved to Germany a few times. I speak a bit of German and have family there. My Grandfather was in the US Army and met my Grandmother in a small German village while he was stationed there (and perhaps laid the foundation for the Borderless Collective as well…).
I have minimal ties to the US at this point - some friends and family, and a personal mailbox in a nondescript shopping center in Colorado with an iPhone app that scans my mail for me.
Through these experiences, I’ve developed a network of people around the world - people that are objectively higher status / successful in their own right. Business owners, investors, fitness moguls, various influencers. I also learned how much better life can be outside the west, depending on one’s ambitions - the grass truly is greener.
I come from Corporate America where I earned six figures for many years. I worked for Fortune 100 companies, startups, and even a variety of minimum wage warehouse jobs when I was young. I managed multi-million dollar budgets and globally dispersed teams.
Despite this success, early on I was kicked out of community college twice. I never ‘fit in’ to the system, so to speak. I constantly rebelled against it.
I turned my life around in my mid-20s though, realizing there was more to life than the newest Call of Duty videogame and an eighth ounce of top-shelf cannabis - I was actually ranked in the global top 5000 of score per minute.
Much like the aforementioned connections I’ve made, I also dated incredible women during my time abroad - those shorter-term trips abroad to Europe really opened my eyes up to opportunities. I started planning my ‘exit’ at that point.
The past few years I’ve dated a wide variety of quality women: Paisas, Tapatias, Filipinas, and damn near everything in-between. Not as a ‘sex tourist,’ but as a guy looking for meaningful connections for the long-term. E.g. here’s a recent image of an ‘instadate’ I did with an Argentine girl that does modeling and promotional material in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I was just walking down Quinta Avenida and talked to her, then made a date out of it - her particular maté had a weird taste, if you can’t tell. This is how I prefer to meet women, by the way - not on the apps. Seriously guys, get off the apps.
Relatedly, I consider myself an above average, successful, fit guy. I had plenty of success dating in the US and making money, so I didn’t ‘need’ to travel abroad just for attention - many mediums discussing such topics as global dating are full of these types as I’m sure you’ve come across (and why you’re in the right place now). I’ve ridden motorcycles since I was four years old, I’ve always been outdoorsy (climbing a few 14,000’ / 4,250 meter peaks in Colorado), and have done jiu jitsu since 2018 (still a blue belt though due to all the travel).
But I left my old life behind to live the global life I always dreamed of. To live a life full of adventure, not useless corporate meetings to increase ‘synergy’ and deal with fake colleagues that just brownnose their way to the top. I climbed the corporate ladder through respect and hard work, not some top 10 business school degree. It took me 12 years to get a four year degree, after all, and even then it was from a state university.
I wanted to live abroad. To invest abroad. Not to be some wannabe James Bond as is often the case with many online accounts / influencers in this space, but to increase my options in life - options for income, assets, relationships, experiences, all of it. And, now in my late-30s, the options are abundant.
I since obtained my residency visa for Mexico (soon I’ll get my passport/citizenship - a very strong passport as well, fitting into my flag theory approach to life) and bounced around in LatAm for a while - mainly Mexico, Colombia, and Peru. I’m currently in Taiwan again.
I don’t consider myself a digital nomad, but more of a digital expat. I like to get a routine. I find a good gym for lifting, another for jiu jitsu, a few coffee shops to work from, restaurants to take my girl to where I know the service is good and they’ll have a table for me even during peak times. I make local friends. I seek out the ‘local’ spots in the midst of expat neighborhoods - it’s almost a challenge I commit to accomplishing.
Constant travel gets old after a while, so I now have a few ‘bases’ around the world to spend extended time in. I’m looking to settle in even further these days, ‘slowmadding’ to an even greater degree.
I include these stories and images not to brag, but to show I talk the talk and walk the walk. To showcase that I’m actively living this life now, not LARP’ing in some obscure ‘men’s travel forum’ or similar. There are so many fake gurus in the online world more broadly, and an even higher in this specific space so it seemed appropriate to make it a point.
And to make another, more macro point: I, like many others are realizing that also have similar success in ‘the western world,’ or wherever they are, the juice just isn’t worth the squeeze. Particularly with women but also by working some wage slave job for a company that’ll kick you to the curb when they don’t need you any longer.
We aim for dating that’s actually worth it, where we don’t mind spending here and there if there’s a matching ROI. To invest and live abroad where we’re happier. To earn a western currency and spend in a weaker currency, further increasing our purchasing power.
